Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 2 Bike Rack Review - 2018 Ford Explorer- Video
Hi Matt with etrailer. and today we're gonna be talking about the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE bike rack on the 2018 Ford Explorer. Now this is gonna be one of our more heavy duty platform bike racks. It's gonna have the potential to hold up the two bikes up the 80 pounds per bike so that's gonna be able to accommodate your e-bikes. And what's also great about that is 80 pounds is a lot of weight, so compared to other e-bike carriers it's gonna outperform most of them. Since it is able to accommodate 80 pounds per bike, it's also gonna be a little bit more difficult to maneuver around but it's also gonna have three tie-down points, two in the tires, and then one on our main frame. more

What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com today we're gonna be checking out the Kuat Piston Pro X on our 2016 Ford Explorer. It's gonna be a platform style bike rack right away you notice that it's got something that other bike racks don't and that's the lights that here. So it's right there in tune with the lights on the back of your vehicle so you don't have to worry about anybody not seeing the brake lights if you have it pulled it over with two bikes. So the plugs right into the four pole on your vehicle on the Explorer it's there. So they work really nice. I think they look cool, but other than that, platform style rack, which means it's gonna sit the bike's gonna sit on the platform. more

You have these wheel cradles that are adjustable up and down this rail right here and it's a zip tie style strap, and then you also have an adjustable frame hook. On top of that you have this nice little adjustable cable just for added protection.Let me just go ahead and show you guys how to take your bikes off the rack. You can start by undoing this little strap, and I do suggest leaving the hook for last as it does hold that bike upright, you wouldn't want it to hit your car or yourself. more

Hi everybody. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Camber 4 bike rack, on our 2018 Ford Explorer. This bike rack is going to be able to hold four bikes with three tie down points per bike. You're going to have two here up top, and you're going to have one down here. And that's the anti-sway cradle. And what that does is, it basically just limits that bike to bike contact when you're going down the road, just making sure they're not going to over-sway and tap into each other. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Apex XT 4 hanging style bike rack on our 2015 Ford Explorer.This is going to be a great choice to get your four bikes to and from the trails, whether you're with friends or family.It's got a mount by the top tube and one on the down tube of your bike to keep it from swaying too much.So for your piece of mind, when you're out on the trails, or you stop into a store to grab some quick groceries, you're going to be able to lock up your bikes with the integrated cable lock that's going to store in the upright post of your bike rack and lock into the end of the two outer posts, to be able to lock up your bikes so that you don't have to worry about them.Here are our cradles. You can see it has a nice soft, rubber composite material so that it's not going to damage your top tube and your bike's not going to move around too much while in transit.It's also going to have these nice grooves in it to be able to accommodate for your brake lines.Now we can go ahead and remove our bike. Just push down on that tab, pull up on the strap. Now you'll notice on the inside of the strap, it is going to have two rubber strips to help, again, with not damaging your top tube when your bike is strapped in.Now anytime you have a multi-bike rack, it's going to be a little difficult, but this one does give you enough room to get that bike off. Once your bike is removed, I always like to replace my straps so they're not flopping around. more
